Mom,
Wow, what a weekend you all had there!! I had no idea soo many members of the extended family, with their kids were going to the wedding. But what an awesome turnout! It sounds like everything turned out exactly and even better than planned! Thanks for sending so many pics! I'm not gonna lie, I woke up on Saturday and remembered it was the day of the wedding, and then I saw that at 2:00, as we were heading to lunch, that the sealing was done and that all the anticipation had come to and end, haha. Well, hats off to Courtney and Tommy for tying the knot, I'm glad it was a memorable wedding! Send me some of the pizza and cookies that were left over in my Christmas package!!
The rest of our week had some crazy parts to it, and some miraculous ones too. There was a sister in our district who had to go home early to get treatments at her house that can't be done as a missionary, so it was sad to lose a member of the district since we are all really tight knit. But it was cool because the day that she left, we had a testimony meeting as a district and I think it was a good way to go out on a high. But aside from that, we continue to see the hand of the Lord in His marvelous work. At times it is tempting to be discouraged but then if we keep working, the Lord blesses us. This week our investigators D & T will be baptized on Friday, M continues to progress, and we are also working with this new family we found last night. We had had a pretty slow day last night, and at like 8:30 we contacted a middle-aged man and an older lady named JD and N, respectively. They told us about the changes they've been looking for, the way they've felt, and about some of their concerns and difficulties. So much to where we were able to discuss so many different parts of the true and living gospel of Christ, and it all related. We watched the Light the World video together, and at the end of the visit, all parties were very grateful for the encounter. Time will tell how they are going to progress, but it was a cool moment.
This week is the week of Christmas!! It is sure weird because there is definitely a lack of some of the normal signs of Christmas that I'm used to; cold weather, extravagant lights, gifts, snow, loads of free time with family. All of the things that are undeniably missed. However, the most special parts of the Christmas holiday is the union of so many people, celebrating the birth and life of our Lord and Savior. And what a great reason to rejoice!! It fills me with so much joy to think of all the blessing that we have. The ward´s Christmas party was this week and we were in charge of running it. So we read about the Lord's birth in Bethlehem and the miracles the preceded and succeeded it. This week we will have a missionary Christmas celebration with the Myers that I'm excited for.
5:00 on Sunday will be the time. It's subject to like plus or minus 30 minute change, but aim for 5:00. I hope that works for you all. I will be using my gmail account and we can all be on the hangout. I can't wait to talk to you all again!! It's been too long haha. Well, have a great week and a wonderful, merry Christmas!! I love you all!!
Love,
Ryan
